Privacy Policy

The short version

Your data is yours. We don't sell it, we don't share it with colleges or scholarship providers, and we don't use it for ads. You can export or delete everything whenever you want. The rest of this page has the full details.

Who we are

Fourposts is built and operated by Opus Vita Inc., a small company in Canada that builds tools for students and researchers. When this policy says “we,” “our,” or “us,” that's who we mean.

What we collect

We collect what you give us directly: your email address, display name, and the application, scholarship, and recommendation data you enter into Fourposts. That's it.

What we don't collect

We do not collect your location, browsing history, or contacts. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising. We do not build a profile of you to sell to anyone. We do not share your information with colleges, scholarship providers, or any third parties. Period.

How we use your information

Your information is used to run Fourposts for you — showing your dashboard, sending deadline reminders you've opted into, and keeping your account working. We also use anonymous, aggregated data to improve the product (like knowing which features get used most). We never look at your individual application data.

Student data & education privacy

Fourposts is designed with student privacy at its core. We follow FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) principles and do not share student data with colleges, scholarship providers, or any third parties. There are no social features and no way for students to see each other's data. Your application information is yours alone.

Data security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We use row-level security so that only you can access your own data. Our infrastructure is hosted on Supabase with enterprise-grade security practices.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. You can also export your data from the settings page.

If you are under 18, your parent or guardian may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data on your behalf by contacting us.

Data retention & deletion

When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. We don't delete inactive accounts automatically — your data stays until you choose to remove it.
